This is the information concerning checking the ownership status of your new
home by taking a look at the title deed..
The document you need to see is a copy of the Tulajdoni Lap (title deed). This
contains the current records the Land Registry Office (Földhivatal) has on their
files about the property.
Up until now, you had to go to the locally relevant Land Registry and wait a few
hours to receive the copy of title deed you needed to see. you can still do that,
but you don't have to any longer. If you still want to do this, or need their
addresses for any reason, here you can contact them (for a more convenient
way, read further):

There is a new service, and I recommend you to use them for your convenience:
You can now order the title deed (tulajdoni lap) document on-line, and these
dear people will deliver it to you. This is their new website: www.tulajdonilap.net
Until the on-line service only has a Hungarian website:
www.tulajdonilap.net I suggest you to contact their kind and English-speaking
representative directly, and order your tulajdoni lap on the phone.

Check on the website it they have an English service, since they plan to start it
soon. If they do, please follow the instructions on the website and order online,
do not call Eszter.
Your cost will roughly be 3,500 HU Ft for the "nem hiteles" document copy, their
acquiring it and mailing it to you. It can be less, depending on your location. To
check if your ownership has been registered, it is enough to get this version.
You will only need the more expensive "hiteles" (original) one, when you need to
submit the document ito some office, for example, when you are selling your
property.
